We’ve been working with our friends at Game Surplus since around 2005. Back then we were helping them with updates and enhancements to a ColdFusion-powered website. Fast forward to the modern times, the website and business was under new ownership and they decided to launch a new, mobile friendly/responsive, e-commerce website.
During the project they also decided to retire Spike the old mascot based logo for something more modern but also with a tribute to their love for board gaming. So our design team worked up a clean, modern website design which brought their refined color palette to life and embraced the new logo we designed for them. In addition to WordPress and WooCommerce integrations based off the custom design we created, the website utilizes custom programmed product filtering features we developed to allow the shopper to narrow down games by age, playing time, number of players and other attributes. A board game blog and event calendar were implemented to allow them other opportunities to reach their customers with relevant up to date content.
Their new Mile 6 built website is more search engine friendly, faster, more secure and stable then the legacy site they migrated from allowing them to grow sales without their online ordering platform or website getting in the way.
