Mennonite Home Communities needed a responsive and user-friendly website that featured their two campuses, Woodcrest Villa and Mennonite Home for potential residents. We designed their new website and built a custom WordPress theme making the site easy to update and intuitive for users.
About Mennonite Home Communities:
Mennonite Home Communities is a premier retirement community located nearby in Lancaster County.
Mennonite Home’s website was no longer reflective of its facilities and was not meeting their needs. The site was challenging to update, so information became outdated. The navigation was no longer intuitive making it hard for users to find information.
- Mobile & Website
- User Interface
In the design phase, we created desktop and mobile mock-ups. The new design utilizes bright, welcoming colors to highlight important information and simplified navigation.
When the user arrives on the home page, they can choose between the two campuses, Woodcrest Villa and Mennonite Home, right from the main navigation bar.
Prominent call to action buttons, like “Scheduling a Visit” or a contact phone number, are available at the top of the site on every page.
The text size feature was designed for some content blocks to increase accessibility for users who can benefit from magnifying the text for better readability.
Upcoming events and news for volunteers and residents can be viewed on the homepage or accessed from the main navigation.
They asked us to make slight adjustments to their logo to keep it consistent with the new design.
The site is built on WordPress using standards-compliant HTML5, CSS, and responsive programming techniques.
WordPress offered the best blend of features, content manager friendliness and customization from a design/development perspective for this project.
Mennonite Home Communities took advantage of our content population services, and we were able to quickly transfer content from the old site to the new site.
With a WordPress training session, Mennonite Home Communities was ready to take ownership and maintain their new website.
